As a child I felt compelled to line up the vertical and horizontal edges of different objects in view. Door and window frames, furniture, buildings, street lamps and telephone poles were all made to eclipse through my line of sight. I especially remember riding in a car and enjoying the sensation of having a row of fence posts quickly snap into a single, vertical line and then break apart as fast as they came together. Today my artwork is grounded in familiar symbolism: both geometric and conceptual. Combining symbols in unexpected ways intrigues me. I also enjoy fusing angles and curves to create visual conundrums: creating moments of wonder, surprise and satisfaction.
